Checklist, the Poke, the Mon, and things like that.

Things to do:
  • Beat BlazBlue's Story Mode
  • Play A Boy and His Blob
  • Play Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
  • Collect all the feathers on Assassin's Creed II
  • Eat some Chinese food
  • Sleep. A lot.
  • Maybe get Borderlands.
So... many... games. I got A Boy and His Blob from my girlfriend for Christmas (as well as a bitchin' Crocodile Chia pet.) She's such a sweetheart. Also got this book Let's Find Pokemon Complete Collection for me with a gift card I hadn't used from a Brawl tourney I got 2nd in. It's pretty much an I Spy book with Pokemon for kids. I have the very first one I got when I was young and the Pokemon craze was in from a book fair! She spotted the Complete Collection at a game/bookstore, which I guess is 3 books combined, and apparently I only had the first one. I love the art in the book, especially since it's kind of older and Kabuto apparently flew back in the day. Who knew? Ahh, Pokemon. You have a special spot in my heart.

Pretty close to beating BlazBlue, just haven't gotten around to it, with Assassin's Creed II taking up the time I play my 360. Now that I finished AC2, I can get a move on, but possibly going back and forth so I can get all the feathers in AC2.

Phantom Hourglass I haven't even touched; I'll get around to it once I'm done with Bowser's Inside Story. I'm almost done with it, too.

And dammit, I've been so tired from waking up earlier to take my sister to school in the morning because my mom's been sick. It's not really horrible, just a chore driving 20 minutes to and from. And this tiredness really makes me hungry for some reason. And I really want some Chinese food. Reeeeeeally bad.

That's a lot of talking to myself. But I think that's what blogs are meant for, aren't they?

Games, games, games

So, I've been playing a lot of things lately.
Assassin's Creed II, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, the obligatory Modern Warfare 2, occasional ODST Firefight mode for some achievements, BlazBlue... All great games, I have to tell you.

Been having a lot of fun with AC2. It's a big step forward for the series, and Ubisoft really did fix a lot that pissed me off in the original. The game feels like it has a soul now. One of my bigger complaints about the first game was that, yeah, you were an assassin and stuff, but Altair didn't really have much of a personality, as well as all the environments kind of seemed blandish. But here comes AC2, full of vibrant life and whatnot. I really like that, makes it feel like the game has a soul.

M&L:BIS is also pretty bitchin'. Borrowing it from a friend, and man is it awesome. I played the Superstar Saga a few years back and loved that game to death. I can honestly say that the series has not lost its magic yet, and I'm really into it. I usually play this in bed before I go to sleep, and I swear it's 3 a.m. and the Dish is telling me it needs to update before I know it.

Modern Warfare 2... I love you so much. You added so much to the series, and I appreciate it. Too many crybabies with this game though. I swear they have the need to bitch about everything. A friend I play the game with has the incessant desire to call everything in the game "bullshit."
"Dude, I got killed by thermal, that's so cheap."
"I just knifed this guy, but it said I didn't! Bullshit!"
Seriously, his crying is getting on mine and my best friend's nerves. It's pretty ridiculous. C'est la vie, I guess.

BlazBlue! I love this game. It took me a bit to get into it and do good, but once I did, I really found this game enjoyable. I like all the characters for the most part. There are a few frustrating things that I find with the game (i.e. Noel Drive-spam, Hakumen as a whole) that would really only frustrate relatively new players, but it's not a huge deal. Took me a while to find a character I like, but of course, turns out that many people use him online. That peeves me; choosing a character and then learning it's not original... I like being original... Anyway. Great characters and story, lots of bonuses and stuff for all to enjoy! One small thing I always like is that the achievement names are great, and I like their descriptions too. I always like that. But one thing that peeved me about the achievements is that a lot of them are secret. I noticed a lot Japanese 360 games feel the need to make as many achievements as they can Secret. But I guess that's what the internet is for.

That about wraps that up for now... as I play other stuff, I'll probably make another post.
Ciao.

Ho-hummity-hum.

So, it's been quiiiite a while since I've updated my blog. I've decided that from now on, this is just gonna be a general blog. A place to put how I feel and what I've been doing.

... On second thought, this'll probably geared a tad towards games anyway, seeing as how that's what I do most of the time.

Anyway! I'm back (I think, maybe, don't hold me to it or anything...) so expect some more posts, O great blog readers, known or unknown.

Monday, September 28, 2009

Wow, it's been 19 days since I've last posted... so much for an upkeep. Anyway, I swear I'm back! And I've got quite a few things to say, a couple of games to review so... Expect some reviews real soon! I haven't ditched my blog!
So to commemorate my comeback, here's an awesome cat that makes me laugh... EVERY TIME.

Do want!

So, I've decided to make a list of all the games (some coming out soon, some out now) that I hope to get. I've never really jotted them all down, but here goes.
  • White DSi - I've wanted one of these for a while now, just for some of the simple things that make it awesome (Flipnote Studio, sound-bit editing...) because I love things like that. Plus my poor Lite is dying, you can totally tell sometimes, with the whole screen flickering and whatnot. I wanted to get a different color than my Lite (black) and that hideous blue version of the DSi is so gross. Thankfully they decided to release the white and pink ones here in the U.S. (even though they've been in Japan for quite a while.) Also, I'm sure Alex would want me to say because of Mighty Flip Champs!.
  • SCRIBBLENAUTS!!!! (DS) - Okay, if you own a DS, and you're NOT excited for this, then you must not be an excitable person. This game looks awesome, there's so many things you could possibly do to it, and you get a free awesome Rooster hat if you pre-ordered it at Gamestop. (Normally I hate Gamestop so much, but some of the stuff they give out is just too tempting.)
  • A Boy And His Blob (Wii) - Whoa. This one kind of sneaked past me for a while. This game looks totally amazing, I love the graphics on it, and by what I hear, it's tough. I love difficult games (as long as they're not Contra/Ninja Gaiden difficult). A challenge is always great and makes the victory so much sweet. I never actually played the original but I always wanted to... Hmm... might have to go get an emulator of it.
  • No More Heroes (Wii) - I've been wanting this game for a long time now, ever since I played it at my friend Marco's house. Violent, vulgar, and humorous all poured into one package. It was released for the core gamers on the Wii a while back, when the core gamers were crying about how Nintendo was just appealing to the casual crowd. And you know what?! Those core gamers didn't pay attention to it! What the hell, core gamers?! Well, you can redeem yourselves by buying the sequel. DO IT.
  • Cave Story (ported onto the Wii) - OH MY F***ING GOD. I WANT THIS SO BAD. I loveloveLOVED the original Cave Story (or Doukutsu Monogatari as it's known in Japan). LOVED IT! It's a 2D platformer game with 8-bit graphics, a cute story, charming characters, and multiple endings which form an AWESOME GAME. And it's freeware on the PC, so if this sounds good to you at all, look it up! They're adding an updated graphics mode on the Wii-port, boss time attack mode and some other stuff. Awesome? You bet your sweet bottom it is.
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360) - I could end it with just a " 'nuff said." deal, but... I won't. This is the sequel to Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare, a game of which I cherished and played the hell out of. An outstanding game, which took the player into a simulation of actual modern warfare. This experience was a fantastic one. I hope that the sequel will fix all the problems of the first, namely over-powered weapons (M16, MP5), all the while not creating its own. From the first two previews, the game looks amazing graphically as well as play-wise, adding many weapons and such I want to give a try (Riot Shield, sticky grenades, throwing knives, among others).
  • Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver (DS) - Okay, so I'm a Pokemon nerd. I have to have this on my list, it's just necessary. I know how some people think they just add a few things each game, but I remember way back when Gold and Silver were just released, when I was younger, they just seemed awesome. They were, and it blew my mind. And I know they will remake this game so awesomely, I might shed a tear (not really, but I'm a nostalgia-junkie like that). It'll be good, and people will buy it, including myself! That simple.
  • Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360) - I love Valve. They are amazing. They make great games. And the sequel to Left 4 Dead, the awesome zombie-survival game, will be no less awesome. I can guarantee it. They fixed everything that L4D1 had wrong with it. Granted, it isn't much, but in my opinion it needed some more variety. New special infected, new characters, and even... get this... DAYTIME!! For some reason, I think that's awesome. I have no idea why, but killing zombies during the day (instead of the lame, cliché nighttime) seems so cool. Some people are apparently crying about how this should all have been included in L4D1, but think about it: This game is gonna be bigger than the last one. Why would Valve release an expansion that is one and a half times bigger than the original? Exactly.
  • Perfect Dark (Xbox 360 port) - Okay, so the original Perfect Dark on the N64 was awesome, and I played that game a lotttt as a kid. Maybe it's just the nostalgia speaking again, but I can't wait for the 360-port of this game. Better controls, better visuals, Xbox Live features... oh man. It's gonna be good.
  • Shadow Complex (Xbox 360) - This game has got a lot of good reviews, and I played the demo and loved it. Kind of Metroid-meets-Castlevania-meets-modern-sci-fi. As weird as that sounds. Only $15, which is another plus, because I'm sure you'll get a lot of bang for your buck.
So that's my list. It's not in any particular order, but I hope to get all these in the future sometime or another. Thanks for listening in thus far, I know it's kind of lengthy. :D

Wow... literally.

Okay, here's my first post after the little opening things. Here goes nothin'!

Recently, one of my best friends had a relapse and fell back into the game World of Warcraft. This is the guy who I've always had to play 360 with online, and while I'd like to say I have other friends to play with, I don't really have as good a friend to play with as this one. So, anyway, he used to play WoW when we were in high school, sophomore-junior year-ish. He decided to quit after the game took up most of his life, and left it all behind and deleted his account.

I'm sure you know someone that plays this game, or maybe you even play yourself. It's really popular, with the ... what is it now?... 9 million people playing? Probably more than that. 11? Ah, who cares. Lots of people play it! And in my opinion, it engulfs them. It becomes a part of their lives, it affects the decisions they make. It's the sad truth that this game is that fun. Or something, I wouldn't know.

Back to the point, this friend started to play WoW again and now I have no 360 buddy. It's really sad. I think one of the best things the 360 has to offer is the sheer joy you can get with playing with friends, easily. And now, nothing. Well, not near as much. He claims he'll still get on (it's true, I played with him since he's gotten WoW), but his absence made me realize how much of my day was just sitting there playing Xbox. I look at that fact and it kind of makes me sad... once that was gone, my day seemed extremely long like there was nothing to do.

Said friend has told me to get WoW and experience it myself, to which I just gave the whole "I don't want to spend $15 a month for it" (which, for the record, is true). I know quite a few people who play the game, and they all tell me to get it. Say it's the best game ever, you won't regret it, things like that (kind of akin to what a cokehead would say about the drug, but I digress). I don't know how to take it, because a part of me knows I'd like it, but just like the 360, I know that's all I'd really do. So I'm kind of torn. Maybe if and when I get a laptop to myself. I don't know. Such indecision!

Anyway, I just kind of needed to get that out of my system. It's been bugging me for a few days. Seismic out!

Here Comes the Sun

I've waited a long time to get a blog. It's kind of something that I've always wanted but never really had the drive to do (sounds like so many other things with me). But alas, here I am, and from here on out I'll be sharing my thoughts and whatnot with all of you! Be it game reviews, what I think about certain things, how I'm doing and why... but I think you know that, it is a blog after all.

Anyway, to all you readers out there, the whole 3 of you, ever. Thank you!
